Inova Agroecologia Maricá is a technical cooperation agreement between Codemar and the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ), signed in 2020 with the general goal of developing actions in the field of agroecology, including not only agriculture, but agroecological aspects in the areas of rural tourism, health, education, solidary economy, public policies and technical assistance and rural extension (Ater).
The project aims to encourage potential farmers and entrepreneurs to develop profit-making activities using agroecological principles and the products introduced by their garden, such as manioc, sweet potatoes, special kinds of tomatoes (red, yellow, black, etc.), pitayas, sugar cane, soybeans, peppers, tropical plants, rice, pumpkin and specialty beans.
