What is it?
“Pedacinho do Céu” is one of the biggest cultural festivals in the region, featuring music, theater, and dance performances on a floating stage in Araçatiba Lagoon. In 2023, Maricá will have five editions of the project. The festival debuted in May 2022, with around 10,000 people attending over the course of five days. The second edition, held in July, attracted 15,000 people who enjoyed the sunset in Araçatiba and the shows that continued into the night over four days of programming. The project is part of a series of initiatives within the Municipal Plan for Sustainable Tourism Development – Maricá 2030. The name “Pedacinho do Céu” pays tribute to the song of the same name by musician Waldyr Azevedo and was inspired by a famous event that celebrates the sunset at Jacaré Beach in João Pessoa, Paraíba.
